The new Norwegian passport, designed by Oslo’s Neue studio, combines aesthetic and functionality.
In pastel tones, it depicts Norway’s beautiful landscapes. The new electronic passport covers are brightly coloured, with red being used for normal passports and white and turquoise being used for immigrant and diplomatic passports.
When you shine a UV light on these lovely sceneries, they transform into the Northern Lights!
Thales is especially happy to be a part of this endeavour. The firm announced in October 2016 that it would supply the third generation of Norwegian electronic passports, as well as the country’s new eID card and residency permit cards.
